With a new design concept, old soda bottles become stackable blocks, toy trucks, and other useful educational tools.
In a remote rural village in Kenya or Malawi, you won't find a toy store, but you'll probably find a shop selling soda.

Flynn Design's insight:

Ah, the refrigerator as a canvas! We designed a simple mailer with the schedule of events for residents to place in that "what do we do this week" reminder spot. I don't know about you, but in our household, it is still the refrigerator!

Flynn Design's insight:

We had the pleasure of viewing "The World Before Her", Nisha Pahuja's film that is on the brink of launching in India. After the screening at Duling Hall, part of Sundance's FilmForward program which is designed to engage the audience in meaningful reflective dialogue, Nisha spoke about her process and time in India. It was indeed an impactful night on all who were able to attend.

Nisha's film enlightens us on the struggles and challenges that young girls and families are facing in India today. And, on a broader spectrum, connects and empowers us all through the understanding that women and girls in all countries face similar challenges.

Flynn Design's insight:

Columbia Pictures picked it up and produced a movie starring James Stewart. My grandfather was welcomed onto the set as part of the team and monitored its accuracy to the series which was eventually published as a novel. He was very meticulous about the details in his stories. He researched and lived in the locations where his stories were set to assure that every last detail down to the color and style of a table cloth were historically and culturally accurate.

Center for Spirituality in Nature Logo

Center for Spirituality in Nature Logo | Flynn Design | Scoop.it
Flynn Design's insight:

Beth Norcross's gift is "Connecting People of Faith with the Earth". As adjunct faculty in eco-theology and eco-spirituality at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., she has embraced her latest calling as founding director of the Center for Spirituality in Nature, where leaders can retreat and recharge by "paying attention to our neighbors, human and non-human, and deepen their spirituality through direct experience with the natural world."

When Beth came to me (via an introduction by a mutual friend, Karole Sessums, who is developing her website,--thank you!) needing a logo, the direction was to visually communicate man in and connected with nature. And, she really wanted a tree in there somewhere. I love trees!

It was a pleasure and a rewarding experience working with Beth and I cannot wait to retreat for a weekend at the Center when it opens!
